We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Information Evening on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024, from 19:00 to 21:00. This event will be held at the Reformierten Kirchgemeindehaus in Küsnacht.

This is a great chance to learn more about our innovative curriculum, including the newly introduced Design Studies and Humanitarian Studies. You will also learn more about our admissions process for both internal and external pupils, and of course, have the opportunity to ask our team any further questions that you may have.

Exam Regulations and Admission Process

Our enrolment rules provide trial days for the youngest classes, Years 5 and 6, as well as entrance examinations for the Progymnasium and Kurzgymnasium. Here are a few key points from these rules. More detailed information will be provided at the information evening.

Children enrolled at Tandem IMS for at least one year, with an average grade of 4.75 or above, will not be required to sit any exams.

For external students, entry to the Progymnasium and Kurzgymnasium is based on an examination and an interview. The average marks obtained in specific subjects during their last semester of primary or secondary school will also be considered. Marks in subjects such as Art, languages, and Humanities will be taken into account. The total score, which includes the average marks, the interview, and the exams, must together reach a minimum of 4.75.

Consideration may exceptionally be given to children who clearly show potential, with grades of 4.5 or above, if they particularly excel in the interview.

Regarding the exams and the final decision for admittance: we will be transparent with the results and provide parents with copies of the marked tests. All Maths and German exams will be created and marked by experienced external ZAP Gymnasium teachers.

Introduction to Paul Woodward

He holds a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in secondary Design and Technology. His extensive experience as a Design teacher and faculty head positions him as a key figure in curriculum development, and the integration of emerging design technologies into learning environments.

Paul’s passion for design is evident in his prolific work as a resource producer, consultant, and author. His expertise spans multiple creative disciplines, and his technical proficiency includes the use of industry-standard CAD and CAM packages. Whether working in education, industry, or as a freelance designer, Paul consistently demonstrates a commitment to fostering creativity and technical excellence in others.

As he continues to provide significant input into the development of our school curriculum, Paul remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of learners with cutting-edge skills and a comprehensive understanding of design and technology. His valuable insights ensure that our curriculum remains at the forefront of innovation in design education.
