AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

The renowned Swiss International Music School has helped hundreds of children learn to play the piano to a very high standard whilst allowing creativity, passion and expression to flow. They understand that developing musical abilities from a young age helps children create an appreciation of rhythm and promotes spatial recognition, fine motor skills and an understanding of sequences and patterns.

At the end of the school year SIMS run their own concert. It is optional for parents to sign their children up. The SIMS concert is completely externally organised and it is not the responsibility of Tandem IMS to share information, promote or support the running of the event.  

Chueja Furrer has over 30 years of piano teaching experience, and offers a child friendly approach to learning the piano using the Suzuki method. Chueja adapts her teaching to the individual’s needs.

Liena Gubareva has been working in Zurich for 25 years as an athletics instructor of ice-skating, gymnastics, acrobatics, tennis and hockey. She has since started collaborating with private schools in order to introduce young children to the exciting world of gymnastics, sports, acrobatics and choreography. Challenging the children physically but also listening to their current interests, this club aims to give children active access to the world of gymnastics and will open the door to many sporting opportunities such as figure skating, tennis, ice hockey, sports gymnastics, athletics and more.

Tandem IMS has teamed up with InterSoccer to bring students fun and challenging football lessons, taught by experienced and knowledgeable coaches. Every child is welcome, no matter of experience. If you are looking for a way for your child to burn off steam whilst learning new football skills and techniques, then this is the perfect opportunity.

This club is carefully planned towards the children’s current abilities and experiences. Allowing for the children to consolidate and practice artistic methods, experience new media and techniques, and to learn about artistic cultural scenes through the years. A time designated for the children to explore their creative side.

The group will craft captivating scenes in German and/or Swiss German, drawing inspiration from beloved fairy tales and original narratives. Through the immersive approach, participants embark on a journey of imagination and self-discovery, where laughter, dreams, and a range of emotions find expression in a playful manner. Utilizing symbolic costumes, participants are guided to intuitively navigate between their authentic selves and the characters they embody, fostering a deeper understanding of interpersonal dynamics.

In Theater-Workshops lernen Kinder, sich sowohl in Hochdeutsch als auch in Schweizerdeutsch auszudrücken, sich gezielt zu bewegen und verschiedene Rollen zu verkörpern. Der Ansatz legt den Fokus auf Freude und die spielerische Erkundung von Grenzen, wodurch die Teilnehmenden ihr Selbstvertrauen ohne Druck aufbauen können.  

Dieses Umfeld ist besonders hilfreich für schüchterne Kinder mit geringem Selbstbewusstsein, die nach und nach aufblühen können. Aber auch selbstbewusstere Kinder sammeln wertvolle Erfahrungen in Empathie, Zusammenarbeit und respektvollem Umgang durch gemeinsame Rollenspiele.
